I figured that a Kindle would make reading whilst holding a baby easier, and every Kindle needs a Kindle Case! This kind of improv quilting is a challenge for me every time. You can find more information here.
I've needed a new pincushion for a while, wanted to use up some scraps and wanted to try out a box pincushion - one with sides. There's more information here.
Cosmos Dust - a baby quilt
This was THE quilt for my own daughter. It was entirely hand pieced and hand quilted in perfect colours for a beautiful little girl. The original design used templates or foundation piecing, but to avoid nasty Y-seams I English Paper Pieced it. You can find more information, including a link to the pattern, here.
Radiant Orchid - a baby quilt
The Pantone colour of the year is Pantone and I took part in the Challenge, making a baby quilt for yet more friends who were expecting. There more information here.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar - a baby quilt
Another of my managers was expecting and had decorated the nursery with a Very Hungry Caterpillar theme so I ordered the quilt kit from Makower. I put this off for months but in the end it went together very quickly! There's more information here.
Arabella Hexagon quilt - a baby quilt
|Modelled by Mia, not Arabella|
Cheerio - a mini quilt
This is a design by Camille Roskelly in Love Patchwork and Quilting. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to make it! There's more information here.
I started this one in Spring 2012 and finally I can call it finished. Because I had no reason for making it, other than for me, it was never a top priority. But I chose to use it as a FMQ sampler. I dissected my quilting here and the ta-dah post is here.
Thread Along Quilt
Made as part of my Thread Along, all of the patterns for this quilt are available here and the finish is posted here.
Three Peaks Quilt
This was a long standing WIP/UFO - I eventually got it finished as an excuse to try out spiral quilting before doing it on the Arabella Hexagon Quilt! It's called Three Peaks because I used a speciality ruler which has "three peaks" (triangles) along the top!
You can read more about it here.
I've now made three buggy blankets for Mia - two are lightweight with flannel on the back and no wadding
And the final one is a muslin with some decoration and binding, to keep her covered when it's sunny. I've written a couple of posts about these quilts here and here
I also made two buggy blankets for my sister-in-law to gift. I wish I could have kept these!
Purple Bee Quilt
This was a quilt made from bee blocks I recieved in October 2012. I gifted it to my Great Aunt in June. You can read more about it here.
Blue Floating Flowers
And as I was making a quilt for one of my Great Aunts, I really had to make one for the other. I raided my mother-in-law's stash for blue and raw edge free motion appliqued the pink flowers. You can read more about it here.
I am not done with this design yet!
Dress and Knickers
I'm a mummy. And mummies sew dresses for their little girls. Right?
And matching knickers. This project was a few firsts for me and you can read about them here.
Nested Churn Dash
I made this quilt in just a month. Once I realised the potential of the pattern I just couldn't put this project down. I had great fun quilting it too. You can read more here.
City Sampler Cushion
This was a test run before I quilt the full size City Sampler Quilt. It's also possibly one of my favourite finishes this year. I love the colours, I love how I quilted it, and I love the buttons on the back. Read more about it here.
You can never have too many cushions. I love this one too! Read more here.
Sew Together Bag
I conquered zips. By running before I could walk, with four zips in one project. I was so pleased to have finished this! Perfect for my hand sewing. Read more here.
Big Stitch Swap Basket
I adapted a tutorial to make a slightly larger basket and added some embroidery! Read more here.
Siblings Together Quilt

A shrunk Tula Pink's original pattern to make a mini!
Part of a sew along back in May, I finally got this Mini Medallion finished
Swooning in a Crowd
My Mini Swoon did not quite go as planned, but I fell out of love with this half way through, so I'm glad it's finished!
Post Card Quilt
Another Quilt Along! I just couldn't resist using the Post Card Quilt to show off my texty fabrics!
